Professor, Northeastern University (1989-Present)

Research Interests:

My research work in paleontology is focused on the fossil record of snakes, amphibians, and lizards. I am involved in two faunal studies, one from the Late Eocene of the Isle of Wight, England, and the other from the Late Pleistocene of Hungary. In addition to identifying and classifying the faunal elements, I am also assessing the relative abundance of each species. In the past I studied the systematics of cryptobranchid salamanders and anguid and varanoid lizards. I have a good collection of fossil vertebrates from the Isle of Wight and a collection of recent comparative material.

Teaching Interests:

I teach five courses: Parasitology, Vertebrate Zoology, Herpetology, Paleontology, and Comparative Anatomy.
