After many years of teaching and research at Northeastern University, Prof. Scheirer has moved to Duke University as of July 1, 2007. His service to Northeastern spanned four decades. His Principles of Biology 1 course (BIOU101) and website, www.igotbiology.com, were recognized for innovation in teaching with technology by several teaching awards. He also served as the chief premedical advisor for the last several years, helping to guide dozens of premed students to their goal of medical school.
Prof. Scheirer has joined the administration of Duke University as associate dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and director of the Office of Health Professions Advising. He welcomes inquires from students and especially premeds.
