Biology Majors
The biology major offers students the opportunity to develop a basic understanding of the organization and the processes of life, from the level of molecules and cells through the level of organs and organ systems to the level of populations, species, eco-systems and evolution.
The major offers the mathematical, chemical and physical background necessary to understand biology and to help train students in practical scientific skills associated with each of these areas of study. The major also allows students to begin to specialize in a subdiscipline of biology.
